@Cliff: I fully agree that it draws more ties between them and the humans. I isn't just a bunch of machines anymore, they are certainly an evolving race.

Perhaps the most bothersome thing is that they seemed to be looking to human beings for deciding how they should evolve. I remember back in season 2's Downloaded how alien and machine-like they seemed.

Seems like that's gone now. I mean, does growing up truly necessitate behaving like a bunch of quarreling squabbling brats?

Same way Cylon Boomer was able to be impregnated by Cylon Helo. The final 5 are different. Not just different but different.

No, I don't really think Helo is the fifth and final cylon but it's as likely to be him as anyone else.

Perhaps it's a sign that Cylons have grown to a point that they're capable of evolution. It would sort of help draw more ties between them and the humans, since you can't REALLY continue to look at an evolving race as 'just a bunch of machines' anymore.

However, Night Rape remains an 'attractive' option.

Night Rape, how very disturbing :)

But what I was meaning is that until now, Cylon Cylon sex did not produce offspring. That seemed to be a big thing with the Cylons, they had breeding facilities and everything dedicated to trying to produce offspring.

There have been children, but they've all involved humans (Athena/Helo, Tyrol/Cally). This is the first time a Cylon/Cylon pairing has produced a pregnancy. Although one of the Cylons is a FinalFive, so perhaps that changes something.

Or perhaps the missing ingredient wasn't God's love, but night rape, as you suggest ;P
